Service Description

The word "Zikhara" is derived from Sanskrit and means "peak". The Zikhara yoga class is a meticulously designed practice that gradually increases our posture practice, beginning with relaxing and gentle opening asanas and progressing into a bit more challenging yoga postures. The class is structured to open up the body and gradually introduce postures that both strengthen and stretch different areas of the body, in a specific sequence that takes us to a peak posture. Once we practice the peak posture, we then finish the class with some cool-down seated postures and a final relaxation, completing a fully sequenced asana practice. This class is suitable for yogis of all levels, from beginner to advanced. The teacher instructs and monitors peak postures, while modifications and special preparation exercises are offered as replacements for those who require more preparation. The class is specifically designed to provide a well-balanced practice for all dosha types. Zikhara yoga is a great way to bring in a sense of play and stimulate the brain, similar to learning how to ride a bike.
